Malcolm Brown Coming To 'Bama? The Rich Would Only Get Richer
Larry Burton (Panama City Beach, Fla.)
Right now Alabama could seriously be considered for anti-trust violations with the level of talent they have at running back. Saban knows that such juniors rarely become seniors so he's ready to keep the pipeline full by adding even more talent in that area.
This week the Alabama Crimson Tide received a visit from from Malcolm Brown, one of the nation's top running backs from Cibolo, Texas. He's a 6'0", 210 lb. running back that Saban would like to add to his already impressive 2011 class.
Though the University of Texas was thought to be the front runner, people from his "inside circle" are now saying the Crimson Tide has a strong shot and could be among the leading teams right now.
The great thing about Brown is that he fits Alabama's style of running attack.
He is not a get-to-the-end-and-turn-on-the-jets kind of running back. He's the "At full speed in three steps and through the hole" running back, a true North, South runner who can break arm tackles and get those tough after-contact yards.

It seems that Brown is interested in being part of something special and with the list of offensive linemen that Saban is loading up, this would certainly be an ideal situation for a running back to come to.
Though this visit is counted as an unofficial one, it is important to note he is planning on visiting again in an official capacity later.
With this being perhaps Ingram's last year and 2011 being Richardson's last year (if he also leaves before completing his Sr. year), then that could put Brown competing by as early as 2012, sharing time with Lacy and others.
With Alabama quickly becoming known as an NFL running back hotbed, this too could pose a huge reason for Brown to pick Alabama over a pass-happy school like Texas with blockers geared to pass blocking.
Time will tell, but this could be a household name in Alabama in the near future.
