2010 FIFA World Cup: Ticket Site Crashes, Thousands Heartbroken
Friday Morning at 9:00am (CAT) saw the hundreds of thousand anxiously try to great some tickets to the FIFA World Cup. With around 90,000 available tickets for sale for the final phase, many felt this was their chance to be part of this great history.
With thousands queueing up outside ticketing centers since last night, other felt online-purchases would be the better option, or buying the tickets from FNB (First National Bank) branches countrywide.
But with so much traffic on the site the FIFA Ticketing System (provided by Match) crashed and is still unavailable.

All FNB branches currently cannot process tickets with thousands still hoping for some outcome, if any.
FIFA announced yesterday that they had around 34,000 category four (South Africa Only) tickets available, 28,000 in category three, 23,000 in category two, and 75,000 in category one.
While many felt that stadiums won't be at full capacity FIFA assured us that 96 percent of tickets have been sold and this last phase would see almost 98 percent sold.
But with only the nine FIFA Centers operating, it would seem many hopefuls would be left out.
Yesterday FIFA Secretary General Jerome Valcke and MATCH assured everyone that they wouldn't be any ticketing issues, yet this crash would once again bring the spotlight on this years system.
