NCAA's QB Prodigies: Future Determined By Draft Number?

Javier ZavaletaFeb 27, 2010

Every year in the NFL Draft it seems there are always two BIG questions. Who will go Number 1? And who will be the first Quarterback taken?

We hype up the QB's that we think will go first. Last year it was Stafford and Sanchez, this year it's Clausen and Bradford. But where do the NFL's QB's really come from? Not every team has a first round pick at QB.

Do they all come from big schools? Where do those first round QB's go? And does their draft pick determine their future as an NFL player?

Here are the answers.

  • Out of all the legitimate starters from last season 12/27 (44%) were not drafted in the first round that's including the 3 2009 first round rookies.
  • 27 QB's have been drafted in the 1st Round since 2000. 11 (41%) of those QB's have ended up as duds and 1 became the reason as to why the number of animal rights activists have tripled.
  • So should we be surprised 10 years from now if almost half of this year's 1st Rd class of QB's turn out to be busts?
