WWE Vs TNA: Does There Have To Be A Winner?

Josh LoganJan 10, 2010

With January 4th almost a week behind us and a lot of debating in the week at hand, everyone wants to know who won.

My question is whether or not it matters.

So does it?

Let's take a look at the two shows.

TNA Impact gave us the hype of a lifetime.

Hulk Hogan debuted.ย  Jeff Hardy returned.ย  Heck even Val Venus was there!

The names keep on going.

So what does it mean?

Well it means that TNA has a lot of big names.ย  This could be a great thing for the company if, and only if, they continue to build their home grown talent.

TNA may have the big names, but their show was lack luster.ย  Of course they had a lot of BIG surprises, especially Ric Flair finally stepping out of Vinny Mac's shadow.

Although they had all of these things the matches were ok.ย  Yes they might have had their exciting moments, but nothing spectacular.ย  It was the same over glorified move by move matches that tell a pretty good story, but at the same time they go beyond reality and lose their luster.

TNA had a victory in their book.ย  It was their most watched episode of all time and hey, that is extraordinary.

They didn't win the competition though.

Now WWE on the other hand had a run of the mill show, but they came with some bombshells of their own.

Bret "The Hitman" Hart returned after his long, toilsome journey so far away from the WWE that no one ever thought he would return.

Remember though folks the WWE's model "Never Say Never".

We were also given the reconciliation that so many longed to see and Vince McMahon doing the only thing Vince can do by putting all the heat on himself(Great move in my book).

The WWE had nothing to prove on the 4th.ย  It just needed to keep doing what it was doing and make the same product they've been making.

If you haven't noticed the WWE is still running strong, though they're starting to do the one thing they are bad at, bringing up new and talented talent.

The whole TNA vs WWE thing to me is very simple.ย  The little train that could keeps on saying I know I can, I know I can, I know I can, while the big train is saying we want you to, we want you to, we want you to.

The only problem is that the big trains passengers keep going to the little train and the little train doesn't have room for them all.

If any one won on January 4th it was those of us who watch wrestling.

The only one who wins by another Monday night war is the fans.

Let's stop arguing points that don't need arguing.
