Report: Evan Fournier Traded to Celtics from Magic for Jeff Teague, 2 Picks
Evan Fournier has been traded for the second time in his career.
The Orlando Magic are reportedly sending Fournier to the Boston Celtics in exchange for Jeff Teague and two second-round draft picks, per The Athletic's Josh Robbins and Jared Weiss. Robbins noted Teague does not have to report to Orlando and will be waived.
This comes after Tim Bontemps of ESPN reported in February that Fournier was "expected to draw interest" because of his expiring contract. It makes sense for the Magic to move him since he is scheduled to hit free agency following the 2020-21 season.

After all, Orlando is not a realistic title contender and was able to salvage something in return for the playmaker before he potentially left to join another team.
Fournier entered the league in 2012 as a first-round pick of the Denver Nuggets. Denver traded him to Orlando after two seasons in which he was largely a nonfactor, but he immediately turned the corner in the Magic's rotation.
He averaged 12.0 points per game in 2014-15 and has never averaged less than 15.1 points per game in any of his ensuing campaigns for the Eastern Conference team.
Fournier is averaging 19.7 points on 46.1 percent shooting, 3.7 assists and 2.9 rebounds a night this season as someone who can attack the defense off the bounce, defend multiple positions and hit from the outside, as evidenced by his 39.9 percent clip from long range last season.
He is also in the middle of his prime at just 28 years old and should remain productive for the foreseeable future if he remains with his new team past the rest of the 2020-21 campaign.
While this may not be the biggest move of the trade deadline, Fournier is someone who can impact a playoff race or a series in the postseason with his ability to get hot for stretches and score in a variety of ways.
He is an ideal secondary scorer who can take advantage of the spacing created by the attention Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown and Kemba Walker draw and continue putting up the impressive numbers he did in Orlando.
The Celtics have been largely inconsistent for much of the season, but they now have another playmaker on the wing who should fill up the scoreboard in a secondary role with so many talented teammates.
