Barcelona 'Dream' of Paul Pogba, Arturo Vidal Reunion in Latest Rumours
Barcelona reportedly "dream" of adding Paul Pogba to their squad this summer in the hope the Frenchman can rekindle the partnership he had with Arturo Vidal at Juventus.
According to Jesus Burgos of Sport, despite having landed Vidal from Bayern already in this window, the Blaugrana are keen to strengthen their midfield further.
"It appears they won't be doing anything by half-measures as Barca's dream is to reunite a midfield duo which was formed at Juventus: Vidal and Pogba," continued the report. "Barcelona want Pogba to complete their midfield. The Catalan club are working on deals to sell Aleix Vidal, Yerry Mina, Andre Gomes and Paco Alcacer to raise the funds to bring in the World Cup winner."

It's added that Vidal and Pogba are still "good friends" following their time spent together in Turin. In the iconic black and white, they were part of one of the strongest midfield quartets in the game alongside Andrea Pirlo and Claudio Marchisio.

According to Mundo Deportivo (h/t Nathan Salt of the MailOnline), agent Mino Raiola will head to England to hold talks over Pogba's future at Manchester United. Juventus are also said to be interested in bringing Pogba back to the club for a second spell.
As noted by Bleacher Report's Dean Jones, while the interest in Pogba does appear to be real, at this point it'd be a huge surprise if United decided to sell the midfielder:
Per both reports, Pogba's relationship with Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho is said to be strained. Notably, the United boss left the club-record signing out of some key fixtures late last season.
In fairness, there were times when the Frenchman's form oscillated, as he would often mix the farcical with the fantastic. However, at the FIFA World Cup, the former Juve man showed what he can do, excelling for France in midfield next to N'Golo Kante and helping the team to glory.
United supporters will hope their No. 6 brings that form into the 2018-19 season. With that in mind, sports writer Liam Canning doesn't believe there should be any situation in which the United star is moved on:
At Juventus, Pogba and Vidal linked up well, as arguably they were the two most multifaceted midfielders in the game at the time. Per sports commentator Ian Darke, the latter used to help bring the best out of the former in Serie A:
Having spent massive money in January to secure Philippe Coutinho and strengthen the midfield, as well as the signings of Vidal, Clement Lenglet and Malcom, Barcelona would potentially have to part with another club-record sum if they were to pull off any shock deal.
At this juncture, it'd be a shock if this one was to come off. Regardless of any reported tension between Pogba and Mourinho, when the Frenchman is on form he animates this United side. Losing a player capable of such influence would be a disaster for United ahead of Thursday's cutoff.
