After a streak of six consecutive playoff appearances was snapped, more change is happening in L.A.

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported on Tuesday that Los Angeles Clippers assistant coach Mike Woodson will not return next season. The 60-year-old had been on Doc Rivers' staff since 2014.

Woodson had spent nearly two decades bouncing around the league before joining Los Angeles. While the majority of his time in the NBA has been spent as an assistant, he has earned two heading coaching jobs. He is 315-365 in eight-plus seasons as a head coach for the Atlanta Hawks (206-286 from 2004-10) and the New York Knicks (109-79 from 2012-14).

Over the past year, the Clippers have undergone a drastic makeover. Chris Paul left last offseason, Blake Griffin was traded during the season and DeAndre Jordan can hit free agency this summer. Even coach Doc Rivers lost his front-office role.

The team found a way to stay competitive and finish with a record of 42-40 despite all of the changes and injuries. It may not have been enough to earn a postseason berth, but all things considered, it was probably better than anyone expected.

In fact, the Los Angeles TimesBill Plaschke reported earlier this month that Rivers is poised to get a multiyear extension. But even if he does receive a new deal, he will reportedly have at least one new face on his staff.

Wojnarowski noted that the Clippers will be looking for a defensive-minded assistant coach to fill the hole left by Woodson's departure.
