The Knicks secured their second postseason sweep after previously eliminating Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers in the Eastern Conference semifinals.

New York will now await the winner of the Western Conference finals between the No. 1 Oklahoma City Thunder and No. 2 San Antonio Spurs, with the series currently tied 2-2.

Brunson finished Monday with 15 points and five assists to guide the New York Knicks to the statement victory. Karl-Anthony Towns added 19 points and 14 rebounds for a double-double as the star duo punched New York's ticket to the NBA Finals.

Mikal Bridges chipped in 15 points while OG Anunoby added 17. Josh Hart finished with six points and 11 rebounds.

Landry Shamet led the Knicks at halftime with 11 points and finished with 16 points off the bench in just 19 minutes. Mitchell Robinson also contributed eight points and 10 rebounds in the win.

Cleveland's Mitchell led the team with 31 points on 50 percent shooting from the field, and four rebounds while James Harden added 12 points, going 0-of-6 from deep. Evan Mobley chipped in 15 points.

By halftime, the Knicks had stormed to a commanding 19-point lead on the road over the Cavaliers, fueled by a massive 20-0 run that flipped the game completely in New York's favor.ย

Bridges, Brunson and Towns combined for 30 first-half points while the Knicks' defense forced Mitchell into carrying the offensive burden almost entirely on his own.

Mitchell poured in 20 points before the break while Harden added 12, but the remainder of Cleveland's roster combined for just 17 points in the half.

Not even four minutes into the fourth quarter, the Knicks had stretched the lead to 33 points, prompting the Cavaliers to clear the bench and waive the white flag.

The Knicks last reached the NBA Finals in 1999 behind Latrell Sprewell and current assistant coach Rick Brunson, the father of Jalen Brunson. New York fell to Tim Duncan and the San Antonio Spurs in a 4-1 series as Duncan earned Finals MVP honors.

The Knicks' most recent NBA championship came 53 years ago in 1973 when New York, led by Phil Jackson, Walt Frazier and Bill Bradley, defeated Wilt Chamberlain, Jerry West and the Los Angeles Lakers in the Finals.

As the Knicks continue their pursuit of the franchise's first Larry O'Brien Championship Trophy in more than five decades, they will get extra time to rest while awaiting the conclusion of the Western Conference finals.
