Can United Spoil the Party?
Manchester City's 2017-18 campaign has been close to perfect. Under manager Pep Guardiola, the Sky Blues have played fantastic, winning football that fans of the club and neutrals alike have come to love.
A title celebration at the Etihad Stadium, in front of their hated rivals, would be a storybook ending for their domestic campaign. It's something the Red Devils and their faithful want to avoid at all costs:
United manager Jose Mourinho has faced plenty of criticism this season, but one thing the Red Devils have done quite well is play for a result in the big matches in England. While their playing style isn't always electric, United can shut down opposing attacks.
The team has also won four matches in a row in the Premier League, including victories over Chelsea and Liverpool―teams battling it out for a spot in next year's UEFA Champions League.
Can the league's second-best defensive unit shut down the City attack or do enough to slow them down and force a draw? It doesn't seem likely, but given their form, United might just surprise us.
Prediction: United come away with a draw at the Etihad.
Mohamed Salah and the Premier League's Scoring Record
Everton have lost three of their past five matches and gave the Citizens all kinds of space in Week 32, conceding three goals before half-time. The fact the match finished 3-1 had more to do with City taking their foot off the gas―things could have gotten ugly for the Toffees.
As BT Sport Football shared, former Premier League star Rio Ferdinand had to defend Everton manager Sam Allardyce before the contest, as fans had a feeling of what was going to happen:
The fans were proved right, and the club could be in for another rough outing on Saturday.
Mohamed Salah has scored five goals in his past two Premier League outings, taking his tally to 29. He's just two goals shy of the league's single-season scoring record―for a season consisting of 38 matches―and will undoubtedly want to add to his collection at Goodison Park.
Against one of the league's worst defences, he will have a good chance of doing so.
Prediction: Salah gets on the scoresheet.
