Recap
Leroy Sane, Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus were all on target for the Sky Blues, who marched to an easy win against Everton. The Toffees barely put up a fight in the first half and fared little better after the break, as illustrated by freelance writer Kristan Heneage:
Yannick Bolasie did manage to pull a goal back after the break, but all in all, the hosts barely showed up for this contest.
For City, it was an easy warm-up match for the UEFA Champions League quarter-final encounter with Liverpool on Wednesday.
In south London, Salah grabbed the winner after a valiant effort from Crystal Palace, who took the lead via Luka Milivojevic from the penalty spot. Sadio Mane tied things up after 49 minutes, but it took until the final 10 minutes for Salah to score his 29th goal of the campaign and hand his side the win.
Per Squawka Football, he's on the verge of breaking a special record:
It was a big win for the Reds, who strengthened their lead over Tottenham Hotspur in the standings. Spurs now trail Liverpool by five points, but they have two matches in hand.
United had it easier than their rivals on Saturday in a 2-0 win over Swansea. An early goal from Lukaku set the hosts on their way, and Alexis Sanchez bagged his second goal for the club before half-time to end the scoring.
After the break, manager Jose Mourinho's side largely shut down Swansea's challenge. The visitors had a few half chances, but David De Gea conserved the clean sheet.
