Premier League Fixtures: Week 32 Schedule, Score Predictions for EPL Matchday

Gill ClarkMar 26, 2018

Tottenham Hotspur's trip to Stamford Bridge to take on Chelsea on Sunday is the standout fixture from Week 32's Premier League fixtures.

A victory for Chelsea would see them close to within just two points of Spurs, who occupy the final UEFA Champions League spot. However, a Tottenham win could all but end Chelsea's dreams of playing in Europe's elite club competition next season.

Elsewhere, Manchester City would take another step towards the title with a victory at Everton, while Manchester United welcome Swansea City to Old Trafford and Liverpool travel to Crystal Palace.

Spurs will still be without top scorer Harry Kane for the short trip to Chelsea, as he is not expected back in action until mid-April, per David Hytner and Dominic Fifield at the Guardian.

The result of Sunday's match could go some way to deciding which team finishes in the top four, and Spurs will also want revenge for a 2-1 defeat at Wembley Stadium back in August.

Kane will be a big miss for the visitors, but they do have Heung-Min Son, who is in a rich vein of form. Opta highlighted how impressive he has been recently:

Christian Eriksen has also stepped up in Kane's absence along with Dele Alli and Erik Lamela, per ESPN FC's Dan Kilpatrick:

Meanwhile, Chelsea have endured a tough run of fixtures and have managed just two wins in their past six games in all competitions.

They may also be concerned over the fitness of Andreas Christensen, who was sent home from international duty with Denmark with fatigue, per ESPN FC's Liam Twomey.

The defender has been a revelation for Chelsea this season, but it seems the demands of Premier League football are catching up with the 21-year-old, who has made 36 appearances in all competitions this season for the Blues.

Chelsea have also been misfiring in attack, with Alvaro Morata having managed just one goal in 2018. January signing Olivier Giroud believes he has not scored as many goals as he should have, per Standard Sport:

Sunday's game will be both teams' first since the international break, and they will have had the majority of their players away with their national teams. For Chelsea, the break from domestic action may have come at a good time, and a win on Sunday would give them a much-needed boost ahead of the run-in.

West Ham vs. Southampton

Saturday sees a crucial match at the bottom of the table, as troubled West Ham United face struggling Southampton.

The Hammers will be hoping to avoid a repeat of their most recent game at London Stadium. That match, which ended in a 3-0 defeat to Burnley, was marred by angry scenes, being disrupted by pitch invaders. The club will have increased security for Southampton's visit, per Indy Football:

West Ham are in a precarious position in the table, sitting just two points and one place above Southampton, who are in the final relegation spot.

The game will be new manager Mark Hughes's first Premier League game in charge of Southampton. He steered Saints to a place in the FA Cup semi-finals with a victory over Wigan Athletic in his first game since replacing Mauricio Pellegrino.

Southampton may also be boosted by top scorer Charlie Austin's return to fitness. The striker has been out for three months but is looking forward to helping his team fight for survival, per sports journalist Peter O'Rourke:

Hughes' arrival appears to have given Saints a lift, and their FA Cup victory will have helped raise morale. West Ham seem to be troubled both on and off the pitch, and a defeat on Saturday would add to the club's problems.
