EPL 100: Ranking of Premier League's Best Players After Matchday 28
This week's EPL 100 felt odd to compile given Manchester City—a team who dominate the upper echelons of every position category—didn't participate in Premier League football, but we soldiered on.
At the very least, Manchester United's bout with Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur's late win over Crystal Palace kept the excitement flowing.
It's crucial to note no performances in the Carabao Cup final, from either team, were taken into account for this piece.
We have updated our lists to take into account the latest gameweek of action. They are divided into seven position groups and based solely on performances in the Premier League in 2017-18.
To be eligible, a player must have taken part in at least half the games his team has played.
Goalkeepers
1 of 7
With Ederson Moraes not playing in the Premier League (or the Carabao Cup) this weekend, David De Gea was presented an ideal chance to perform and overtake him in the rankings.
Shockingly, he didn't take it.
The Spain international experienced what you have to label a rare off day, allowing a Willian strike to whizz past him and spilling a few balls he then had to dive on.
Further down, Hugo Lloris' steady climb up the rankings continued with another clean sheet banked, while Lukasz Fabianski came back to earth with a bit of a bump in Brighton.

Right-Backs/Right Wing-Backs
2 of 7
Victor Moses and Antonio Valencia's private battle for second place continued on Sunday, with the two essentially swapping in accordance with their teams' fortunes on the day.
Kiko Femenia made a welcome return to fitness for Watford and immediately involved himself in a move creating a goal, and it's enough to take him up above Joe Gomez, who has been ousted from the Liverpool XI for the moment.

Left-Backs/Left Wing-Backs
3 of 7
We have a storyline in the left-backs section, and it comes in the form of super Scot Andrew Robertson. Another buccaneering display lifts him to the lofty heights of second place, with his determination, energy and crossing impressing against West Ham United.
Stephen Ward made his long-awaited return from injury and settled straight back into Burnley's XI, helping to dominate the flank and dramatically reduce Cedric Soares' effectiveness. Charlie Daniels drops out after enduring a rough ride against Newcastle United.

Centre-Backs
4 of 7
Jan Vertonghen missed Tottenham's win over Crystal Palace, opening up the chance for one of Chelsea's centre-backs to leapfrog him—but neither impressed enough.
In fact, Andreas Christensen did the opposite, making his second error in the space of five days (the other coming against Barcelona) and ensuring he drops out of the top three.
Excellent centre-back performances were few and far between this week, although Ben Mee, Harry Maguire, Christopher Schindler, Virgil van Dijk and Davinson Sanchez were all largely good.

Defensive Midfielders/Central Midfielders
5 of 7
With so many headlines hanging off Paul Pogba's every move right now, Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho will have been relieved to see another of his central midfielders step into the spotlight on Sunday.
Nemanja Matic, Pogba's regular partner, impressed greatly in the centre and was crucial in the win over Chelsea.
Good performances from Mousa Dembele and Emre Can see them move up too, while Eric Dier had to fill in at centre-back for Tottenham on Sunday, but he did so admirably, putting in a man-of-the-match-worthy display.

Attacking Midfielders/Wingers
6 of 7
The top seven remain stock-still here, with four of them not participating in the Premier League this week, but we do have some notable movers further down in the form of Sadio Mane and Willian.
The former has been the least effective of Liverpool's attacking trident this season, but his performances have taken a turn for the better recently, while the latter built on a phenomenal showing against Barcelona by scoring at Old Trafford.
Keep an eye out for Jose Izquierdo next time you watch Brighton & Hove Albion—he's found his groove and is proving an X-factor from the flank for manager Chris Hughton.
Heung-Min Son is unlucky to move down; he only got 10 minutes from the bench on a weekend when so many in his position were impactful.
Biggest rise: Anthony Martial (+4)
Biggest fall: Heung-Min Son (-4)

Strikers
7 of 7
Harry Kane may be 11 ahead of Roberto Firmino in the scoring stakes, but in terms of overall performances, the Brazilian doesn't feel that far off Tottenham's master marksman. His ability to knit Liverpool's attacks together and create as well as score has seen him put together a phenomenal campaign to date.
The injured Alexandre Lacazette drops out of the top 10 this week and is replaced by Glenn Murray, whose brace on Saturday took him to double figures for the season and, crucially, continues to hold off competition from Jurgen Locadia and Leonardo Ulloa for the time being.
