La Liga Table 2018: Sunday's Week 21 Results and Updated Standings
Barcelona struggled to a 2-1 victory against Alaves in La Liga at the Camp Nou, as Lionel Messi scored a late winner on Sunday.
The visitors manufactured a lead in the first half as John Guidetti struck and held on to it until the 72nd minute, with Barca short of their best.
However, strikes from Luis Suarez and Messi ensured the league leaders avoided embarrassment on a difficult night, as Philippe Coutinho made his opening bow in Catalonia.

Sunday Recap

It was a frustrating night for Barca as Coutinho made his first start for his new side after leaving Liverpool.
The mercurial Brazilian failed to make a big impression, despite the Blaugrana dominating the ball, and Alaves took a shock lead as Guidetti fired home midway through the first half.
The attacker burst through on the counter-attack as Barca lost the ball high up the pitch, and Alaves players wildly celebrated as the Swede awkwardly smashed the ball home.
The goal silenced an already subdued Camp Nou, but Alaves continued to defend with vigour as the hosts pushed forward after the interval.

Messi was short of his best as he combined with Coutinho, and the visitors almost scored a second because of their opponents' lack of care.
However, there was a collective sigh of relief as Suarez was deadly at the far post, firing with venom as his effort deflected off a defender after 72 minutes.
It was left to Messi to score the winner from a curling free-kick, denying Alaves a deserved point after a dogged display on the grandest stage.
Atleti waited until the second half to produce their best, scoring three times after the hour mark to collect the points.

Antoine Griezmann broke the deadlock after 61 minutes, as Fernando Torres added his name to the scoresheet 12 minutes later.
Thomas Partey made it 3-0 with two minutes remaining, consolidating the club's position of second place in the table.
Leganes were victorious in a 3-2 encounter against Espanyol, with the hosts prevailing in an entertaining match.
The Cucumber Growers were handed the lead after 11 minutes as Mario Hermoso scored an own goal, but Marc Navarro equalised shortly after half-time.
Miguel Angel Guerrero's header re-established the lead for Leganes after 69 minute, and a second own goal from Hermoso made it 3-1 with eight minutes left on the clock.
Hermoso then gave his side a brief moment of hope as he scored at the right end of the pitch in the final seconds, but it was too little too late as Espanyol had nothing left in the tank.

Sevilla were convinced they'd done enough as they hosted Getafe, but the visitors fought for a point as they scored deep into injury time at the end of the game.
Luis Muriel combined with Pablo Sarabia to make it 1-0 with only 18 minutes left, but Getafe continued to seek an equaliser against the run of play.
They were rewarded as Angel Rodriguez found the bottom corner with almost the last kick of the match, as home fans held their heads in their hands.
