The league has already made one notable change to its rules heading into the second week. Co-founders Ice Cube and Jeff Kwatinetz told reporters during a conference call on Wednesday that games will now be played to 50, instead of 60, in an effort to move games along so they fit in the FS1 broadcast schedule.
"Our approach was smart because we can make adjustments," Kwatinetz said, per UPROXX's Oliver Maroney. "What's great is we have the flexibility to be able to be proactive and not wait five years to make rules changes, to make the fan experience better right away."
Injuries were a key storyline in the first week of Big3 action. During that same conference call, it was announced Jason Williams would miss six to eight months as a result of his knee injury and that Corey Maggette would be out of action for the rest of this season after having surgery on his leg.
Ice Cube did say during the call that Allen Iverson, who only played nine minutes during Week 1 and scored two points on 1-of-6 shooting, will likely play more in Week 2.

Even though Iverson is the biggest name in the league, he did take steps to lower fan expectations after that opening game.
"I signed up to be a coach, player and captain," he said, per the Associated Press (h/t USA Today). "Coach part is going to go on throughout the game. Playing part is not going to be what you expect. You're not going to see the Allen Iverson of old out there."
It's clear, based on the early changes to the rules and how players are being used, there is still a feeling-out process for everyone in the league.
Since games depend on the shooting ability of the players on the court, the time on the court could vary wildly from game to game. Coaches have to be diligent to manage minutes, as most of the league is made up of aging former NBA players.
The Big3 is an entertainment league that is offering basketball fans something different to watch over the summer. Week 2 will present a new glimpse of what this league is capable of becoming in the future.
