Manchester City: Mayhem in Monaco?

Manchester City's first-leg performance against Monaco encapsulated their season rather succinctly, with a team that relies heavily on its attacking strength scoring five while conceding three times in front of a home audience.

City have bucked their own trend somewhat by keeping clean sheets in their last six away games, although Squawka recently testified to Monaco as something of a different animal when it comes to attack:

The Premier League visitors will struggle to keep a seventh successive away clean sheet in their trip to the Stade Louis II, although Guardiola appears content thriving on a strong attack, per the Press Association's Andy Hampson:

With three away goals to their name already, Monaco find themselves in an odd position leading into Wednesday's second leg, knowing they need goals to pull level on aggregate but that they at least have one ace in the hole.

Guardiola's tactics will therefore have a major impact on the narrative of the fixture, and while Monaco are sure to stake their claim at home, the damage done by City in the reverse fixture may prove too much.

Prediction: AS Monaco 3-2 Manchester City (Manchester City advance)

Leicester City Lay It On the Line

Leicester might have found themselves close to dead and buried in the Champions League were it not for Jamie Vardy's 73rd-minute strike at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan three weeks ago.

This fixture will also be Craig Shakespeare's first in charge of the Foxes as manager on a permanent basis, and Sky Sports News' Rob Dorsett couldn't help but note the magnitude of the occasion:

Leicester have looked far improved under Shakespeare and have won both of their games with him as caretaker boss, while the BBC's John Bennett highlighted Sevilla's untimely dip in performance:

Manager Jorge Sampaoli will know a one-goal margin is far from conclusive heading to the King Power Stadium this Tuesday, and snatching an away goal will be critical to the Spaniards sealing their place in the quarters.

Two teams very capable of operating on the counter will collide with tensions high in a setting unfamiliar to the Champions League, and this could be the juncture at which the Foxes' European fairytale comes crashing down.

Prediction: Leicester City 2-2 Sevilla AET (Sevilla advance)
