Nets' Caris LeVert Sends Heat's Wayne Ellington Flying with Slick Crossover

Andrew GouldJan 26, 2017

The Brooklyn Nets don't give fans much to cheer about these days. During yet another defeat—their 12th in January—Caris LeVert at least delivered a rare highlight.

In the third quarter of Wednesday's 109-106 loss to the Miami Heat, the rookie wingman tripped up Wayne Ellington on a nasty crossover. With his defender on the ground, he stepped back and drained a wide-open three.

The Nets didn't possess their own 2016 first-round draft pick, but they acquired the Indiana Pacers' No. 20 selection by trading veteran Thaddeus Young. LeVert, who fell down draft boards because of a leg injury, gives the 9-36 team some much-needed upside.
