LeBron James' Top NBA Landing Spots Revealed by Rich Paul in Trending Photo amid Rumors

Adam WellsJul 3, 2026

Amid all of the speculation about where LeBron James will play next season, who better to provide insight into the future Hall of Famer's thought process than his longtime agent?

On the latest episode of Game Over, Rich Paul listed the Golden State Warriors, Miami Heat, Philadelphia 76ers, Cleveland Cavaliers, Minnesota Timberwolves and Denver Nuggets as the primary landing spots for LeBron, using a whiteboard to illustrate what each team has to offer LeBron.

Other teams mentioned on the periphery of the whiteboard are the San Antonio Spurs, New York Knicks, Boston Celtics and Dallas Mavericks.

Paul offered details as to why James would be considering many of those teams. For instance, the Heat are included for the familiarity he has with Erik Spoelstra and Pat Riley, as well as the strength of their roster on both ends of the court after adding Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Other clubs James has familiarity with include the Cavs and Sixers, whose newly-hired president of basketball operations is Mike Gansey. Gansey previously worked in Cleveland's front office for James' final season with the Cavaliers in 2017-18.

The Nuggets are on the board because Paul said James has a relationship with the Kroenke family, but he also noted they have to decide on whether or not to retain restricted free agent Peyton Watson before doing other business.

Even though the Warriors didn't get included in the starting-five circle in the middle of the board, Paul said not to read anything into their placement.

All of this shows why Paul has been one of James' closest confidants throughout his entire NBA career. It's an incredible marketing strategy to keep everyone in the league on their toes about what they have to offer James.

It didn't really offer much insight into which way James is leaning after confirming on Tuesday he would be leaving the Los Angeles Lakers after eight seasons.

Since this could end up being the final contract James signs with an NBA team as a player, it's not a surprise he might want to be patient with this decision to find the perfect fit to help him win a championship next season.
