Cactus Bowl 2016: Boise State vs. Baylor Live Score and Highlights
Baylor 31, Boise St. 12—Final
The Baylor Bears routed the Boise State Broncos 31-12 in the 2016 Motel 6 Cactus Bowl on Tuesday.
Junior KD Cannon got the Bears going, exploding for two first-half touchdowns and finishing with a Cactus Bowl-record 226 receiving yards. With freshman quarterback Zach Smith finding his rhythm, the Baylor defense pinned its ears back to hold the Broncos to six points for much of the night.
For head coach Bryan Harsin's team, this was an uninspired effort. The Broncos scored only 12 points on 89 plays, failing to hit paydirt on multiple trips into Bears territory, mainly because of three turnovers by quarterback Brett Rypien.
Baylor secured a winning season, while Boise State's two-bowl winning streak under Harsin ended.
