Recap

Cesc Fabregas broke the deadlock at the Stadium of Light with Chelsea's first chance of note, linking up well with Willian before guiding home an excellent finish from the edge of the area.

The Blues had goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois to thank for the three points, though, when he pulled out a tremendous stop to deny Patrick van Aanholt after missing countless opportunities to kill the game off.

Squawka Football looked at the numbers behind their 10-game winning streak:

Meanwhile, United strung back-to-back league wins together for the first time since August. Paul Pogba put them ahead on the stroke of half-time at Selhurst Park in controversial circumstances—the Frenchman was perhaps marginally offside when he stroked in Zlatan Ibrahimovic's flick six yards out.

Palace pulled level in the 66th minute in some style as James McArthur raced on to Damien Delaney's exquisite backheel before finishing well past David De Gea.

The Red Devils looked to be heading to a draw after being denied a penalty for a Joe Ledley handball and Juan Mata having a goal wrongly disallowed for offside, but Ibrahimovic grabbed a winner in the 88th minute when he produced a marvellous finish after being slipped through by Pogba.

Football writer Liam Canning hailed the pair of summer acquisitions:

City took the lead through Pablo Zabaleta, who converted Kevin De Bruyne's cross from the left at the back post, and David Silva finished off Watford late on as he and Raheem Sterling hit the Hornets on the break after they had pushed forward in search of an equaliser.

Adam Lallana's header gave Liverpool the half-time lead at the Riverside Stadium in a tightly contested first half, in which Simon Mignolet made three strong saves.

After Divock Origi doubled the Reds' tally—courtesy of Lallana's delivery—the England midfielder grabbed his second when the Belgian turned provider with a low cross of his own. Squawka Football hailed his outstanding form:

At London Stadium, West Ham were handed a penalty in first-half injury time after Winston Reid was felled in the area. Mark Noble duly dispatched the spot-kick which proved decisive.

Meanwhile, Stoke were able to grind out a 0-0 draw despite having Marko Arnautovic sent off after 23 minutes for a high tackle on Sofiane Boufal. Sky Sports News HQ's Iain Dowie believed the Austrian was unfortunate to receive his marching orders:

Spurs opened their account against Hull through Christian Eriksen after 14 minutes, the Dane supplying the finishing touch on a comprehensive team move as OptaJoe illustrated:

The Denmark international had his brace when he tapped home Kyle Walker's cross in the second half, and Victor Wanyama made sure of the result when he turned home a rebound after Eriksen cannoned a free-kick off the post.

Elsewhere, Salomon Rondon's hat-trick of headers in just 13 second-half minutes gave West Bromwich Albion the win over Swansea City, with Matt Phillips supplying the first and Chris Brunt the latter two with excellent crosses.

Wayne Routledge was able to pull a consolation back for the visitors, who face several potential relegation rivals in their next four games—Middlesbrough, West Ham, Bournemouth and Palace.

If the Swans aren't able to pick up some wins during that run, they may well find themselves adrift in the fight for survival.
