North Dakota State has been all but unstoppable since 2011, winning five national titles and losing just six games in the process.
One of those losses came this season against South Dakota State on Oct. 15, but the Bison made up for it Saturday with a 36-10 victory over the Jackrabbits in the quarterfinals.
They scored 36 unanswered points in the win, racking up 490 total yards of offense while holding South Dakota State to just 192 total yards.
But James Madison is coming off one of the most impressive defensive performances of the year. The Dukes held the nation's leading scoring offense in Sam Houston State to just one touchdown and 270 total yards in a 65-7 win.
On top of that, running back Khalid Abdullah continued to stake his claim as one of the FCS' elite rushers with 141 yards and three touchdowns.
He ranks fourth in the FCS with 1,528 yards.
The Dukes haven't won a national championship since 2004, which was the only time in program history they appeared in a title game. It's also just the third time James Madison has ever appeared in the FCS semifinals, which could develop into a daunting stage inside a raucous Fargodome.
