Garnett Garnering Coaching Interest
Thursday, Oct. 27
According to The Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski on Thursday night, Garnett is talking with teams, including the Cleveland Cavaliers and Milwaukee Bucks, about a potential "coaching consultant" position.
Wojnarowski's report came just hours after TNT revealed Garnett will join its crew:

Building up to the 2016-17 season, it was uncertain whether Garnett would return for a 22nd NBA campaign. But he announced in September that he was hanging up his sneakers:
Garnett was a 15-time All-Star over his career, which consisted of stints with the Minnesota Timberwolves Boston Celtics, with whom he won the NBA title in 2007-08, and Brooklyn Nets.
He retired with 26,071 points, which ranks 17th on the NBA's all-time list, and 14,662 total rebounds, which ranks ninth, to go with his 2003-04 MVP award.
However, he might have been best known for his fiery personality and tenacity, which was coveted by teammates and got under his opponents' skin. In fact, his peers voted him the league's top trash-talker in 2010, per J.E. Skeets of Yahoo Sports.
Cavaliers head coach Tyronn Lue has been open about his desire to have Garnett alongside him patrolling the bench in Cleveland.
"I talked to him about it," he said Sept. 29, per ESPN.com's Dave McMenamin. "I know his wife is pushing for it a lot. Brandi is pushing for it, trying to get him to come and coach. He says he's not ready yet. He goes back—'I might do it'—but he's back and forth. We'll see. But I'd definitely make a spot for him if he wanted to come back and coach."
Per ESPN.com's Jackie MacMullan (via McMenamin), Los Angeles Clippers head coach Doc Rivers has also expressed interest in bringing Garnett aboard and even got him to practice with the team.
Given Garnett's extensive resume as one of the best forwards ever, having a presence like him on the bench could be useful for a head coach.
