Barcelona travelled to struggling Valencia on Saturday hoping to carry their red-hot UEFA Champions League form into La Liga.

The afternoon started badly for the visitors as they lost captain Andres Iniesta to a nasty-looking knee injury:

But Lionel Messi put them ahead on 22 minutes with a low finish from just inside the box:

That lead was wiped out seven minutes into the second half, as Munir El Haddadi—on loan from Barcelona—lashed in a brilliant finish to make it 1-1.

And the home side then went ahead four minutes later, Rodrigo ghosting in to put the home side ahead:

But the lead didn't last long, as Luis Suarez made it 2-2 with an powerful finish on 62 minutes:

Valencia appeared to be heading for a credible draw, until Aymen Abdennour brought down Suarez deep into added time, and Messi stepped up to clinch a 3-2 win from the penalty spot:
