Stanford vs. UCLA: Live Score, Highlights for Cardinal vs. Bruins
Stanford 22, UCLA 13 — Final
Stanford entered the Rose Bowl for a showdown with UCLA as a College Football Playoff contender, and through most of the game, it looked like the Cardinal were primed for a big upset loss.
Trailing 13-9 with less than two minutes to go, Stanford quarterback Ryan Burns orchestrated a picture-perfect 70-yard drive that was capped by a go-ahead touchdown pass to JJ Arcega-Whiteside.
A defensive touchdown on the last play of the game gave the Cardinal (3-0) a 22-13 victory.
Heisman Trophy contender Christian McCaffrey was held in check for most of the night, but still managed to run for 138 yards on 26 carries. But he wasn't able to produce any big plays against a surprisingly game UCLA defense, which nearly produced a big-time upset in the Pac-12 and the College Football Playoff race.
The Bruins (2-2) were guided by the steady hand of quarterback Josh Rosen, who completed 66.7 percent of his passes for 248 yards and a touchdown against no interceptions. But despite his solid night, it wasn't enough to derail the Cardinal's playoff run.
