Luis Suarez Comments on Sevilla Fans After Barcelona's 2-0 Super Cup Leg 1 Win
Barcelona striker Luis Suarez has accused some Sevilla fans of attempting to "steal the show" from the players after his side clinched a 2-0 victory in the first leg of this year's Spanish Super Cup on Sunday.
The former Liverpool man found the target before team-mate Munir El Haddadi doubled Barcelona's first-leg lead, and a section of Sevilla fans responded harshly to the Uruguayan's overzealous celebration.
Suarez didn't appreciate the reaction, per Spanish daily Marca: "Let them do the talking, I speak on the pitch. Instead of watching us play, some fans want to steal the show."

Football Espana also quoted Suarez, who detailed his frustrations that Barcelona are seemingly "obliged to play at our best level for 95 minutes.”
Former Sevilla loanee Denis Suarez came off the bench to replace the injured Andres Iniesta, but the midfielder appeared to have a more positive experience than his namesake in the first leg:
According to Catalan newspaper Sport, cries of "Uruguayan, son of a b---h" and "We are all the tax system, Messi pay now" rang out from sections of the Sevilla support, but referee Jesus Gil Manzano "did not make any note" in his match report.
Opta editor Jamie Kemp couldn't help but take note of the side story that developed between Suarez and some of the more energetic Sevilla fans in attendance:
The 29-year-old striker has been a polarising figure for much of his professional career, courting controversy at Ajax and Anfield, as well as with his national team at the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
Suarez's exploits are often that much harder for opposition fans to take simply because he is so accomplished in his craft, and Spanish football blogger Rafael Hernandez highlighted the South American's sterling form:
Sevilla will make the return visit to the Camp Nou for the second leg on Wednesday, where they'll be hoping Suarez doesn't put them through yet more torment.
Even if manager Jorge Sampaoli's side stop the Uruguayan in his tracks, the Blaugrana have a stash of other weapons also capable of damage.
