Burglars "targeted" Wayne Rooney's Cheshire home during the Manchester United striker's testimonial match with Everton on Wednesday night.
According to the BBC, at around 9 p.m. BST, midway through the match, burglars targeted his home in Prestbury.
"Officers went to the address and conducted a full search of the local area and were unable to find any trace of the offender," said Cheshire Police.

According to the Sun's Sarah Ridley and Ruth Warrander, the security system at Rooney's home was set off by a "balaclava-clad intruder," prompting a police response including a helicopter and dogs released into the gardens.
A neighbour said: "Wayne has amazing security to make sure his wife Coleen and the kids are OK while he is away. It’s like a fortress. It was like something out of a movie with alarms shrieking and search lights flashing on."
While the attempted burglary was evidently unsuccessful, Rooney is "said to be 'deeply shocked'" at the incident.
His family were attending the testimonial match and were not home at the time.
