It was Emery who brought Krychowiak to Seville from French outfit Reims in the summer of 2014, so it's fitting it should be the same man who takes him back to Ligue 1.
Sevilla president Jose Castro told a press conference in late June that PSG had made a substantial offer for Krychowiak, although it didn't meet his reported €30 million (£25 million) release clause.
He said: "It's true, we're talking with PSG about Krychowiak. It won't be necessary that PSG pay the clause, but if Krychowiak leaves our club, we will receive a big income. This income can help to avoid selling other players. We have a big offer, but it isn't the clause."
The 26-year-old has established himself as one of Europe's most reliable midfield anchors in recent years and played a key role in the last two of Sevilla's three successive Europa League triumphs.
Krychowiak was named in both the Primera Division and Europa League Team of the Season at the end of the 2014-15 campaign, his first term in Spanish football.
The midfield general made an average of 4.5 interceptions per game last season, according to WhoScored.com—the joint-most of any player in La Liga—as well as boasting 2.5 tackles per game.
Krychowiak will now hope he can transfer the same consistent form to Ligue 1 as he competes with the likes of Blaise Matuidi, Marco Verratti, Thiago Motta and Javier Pastore for a place in Emery's plans.
