Wales Edge Belgium to Keep Dream Run Alive

In the build-up to Euro 2016, few might have predicted that by this stage of the tournament, it would be Wales left standing as the last of the Home Nations still in contention.

However, they encounter an almighty opponent this weekend in the shape of Belgium, who are fresh from a 4-0 humiliation of Hungary and were tipped by Match of the Day pundit Alan Shearer as a major threat:

Still, Wales have proved themselves to be more than an outfit fuelled by the majesty of Gareth Bale, and manager Chris Coleman recently told Rob Phillips of BBC Wales Sport his team's success is no surprise:

"

I am not sitting here pinching myself thinking, 'Wow - how has that happened.' It's happened because we are good enough to be here and because of the experiences we have had.

We have to remember the experience we have had the last couple of years. Some of the performances these players have put on for the nation have been breathtaking. I know it is easy for me to say it now because we are in the quarter final, you do not expect anything in football because you know it is a game that can turn really quickly.

The group of people we have together are very good. You need a bit of luck, you need them to perform at their maximum and if you get all that in the same mix, you always have a great chance.

"

The team also received a massive boost after Sky Sports provided footage of captain Ashley Williams training after injuring his shoulder in the 1-0 win over Northern Ireland:

Shutting out Belgium's strikeforce will be key to a Welsh win, but with Romelu Lukaku struggling for consistent form at Euro 2016 thus far, Wales' counter-heavy approach could work its magic once again.

Of the eight teams remaining, Belgium have conceded the fourth-highest amount of yellow cards in the competition, per WhoScored.com, and some Bale magic could be all that's needed to seal a slim win.

Prediction: Wales 2-1 Belgium

German Giants Fall By Italy's Hand

Italy coach Conte has displayed a tactical masterclass thus far at Euro 2016.

Germany took their time to get up and running in France, but manager Joachim Low's side are now starting to show form more resembling the outfit that won the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

However, they face an Italy team that's already dethroned one frontrunner after a 2-0 win over reigning champions Spain, and SportsCenter provided a statistic that may strike fear into Die Mannschaft:

Match of the Day presenter Gary Lineker commented on tactics being a huge part of the Azzurri's rise at Euro 2016, too, with head coach Antonio Conte putting together an awesome outfit of smaller-profile stars:

Against Spain, Italy also employed an approach structured around their counter, and although the Republic of Ireland did beat Italy 1-0 in the group stage, it speaks volumes that was Conte's second-string side.

The Azzurri's starting selection are yet to leak a goal in the games that have mattered, and as long as the strategy remains intact, this Italy side look capable of ousting anybody at present.

Prediction: Germany 2-2 Italy (Italy Win on Penalties)
