Pettigrew Placed on PUP List
Sunday, July 24
Per the Lions' official website, Pettigrew was one of three Detroit players placed on the PUP list alongside wide receiver Corey Fuller and offensive tackle Corey Robinson.
Pettigrew Set to Slide in Behind Ebron When Healthy
Pettigrew emerged as one of quarterback Matthew Stafford's top targets during the 2010 and 2011 seasons, but his role steadily waned from 2012 through 2014 before he tore his ACL after making eight appearances a year ago.
Prior to suffering the season-ending knee injury, Pettigrew posted a career-low seven catches for 67 yards and a single score.
Considering Pettigrew has been relegated to a supplementary pass-catching role over the last few years and he's coming off a severe knee injury, the latest setback doesn't figure to shake up the team's depth chart much.
Eric Ebron will continue to work as Detroit's starter at tight end, while Marvin Jones and Golden Tate should maintain their status as Stafford's preferred targets on the outside.
