Punter Cashes out for £53K Just Before Barcelona Defeat Ends £1.5M Accumulator

One punter enjoyed a moment of omniscience on Saturday, when he cashed out of a bet that stood to net him £1.5 million for £53,000, moments before Barcelona's shock defeat to Real Sociedad.

The anonymous gambler correctly predicted the first 15 results of a mammoth 22-fold accumulator, with Barca's trip to La Real next on the list.

But the lure of £53,000 proved too tempting, and the punter cashed out before Luis Enrique's side slumped to a second consecutive Primera Division defeat.

"This is the mother of all cash-outs with the customer correctly predicting that Barcelona weren’t going to do the business against Real Sociedad," said a Betfair trader, per the Telegraph.
