La Liga Fixtures 2016: Schedule, Live Stream and Week 32 Predictions

Tom SunderlandApr 7, 2016

La Liga leaders Barcelona are seeking a swift recovery as they return to domestic action against Real Sociedad in Week 32, hoping the home defeat to Real Madrid last time out was nothing but a brief blip in their campaign.

The Blaugrana sit just six points ahead of second-placed Atletico Madrid, who make the trip to Espanyol, and Real Madrid are just a point behind their city rivals in third, preparing to play host to Eibar in Saturday's early kick-off.

As European commitments begin to take their toll and legs start to tire, all three teams are hoping to finish strongly across multiple fronts, and Barcelona have a tremendous task on their hands in retaining their lead.

Barca Will Claim Slim Win at Anoeta

Barcelona's Spanish club-record undefeated streak of 39 matches finally came to its end against Clasico rivals Real Madrid, but manager Luis Enrique's men have the chance for a quick turnaround in Week 32.

However, Barca will have to end a nine-year winless run at Anoeta if they're to beat La Real and get back on the winning track in the league on Saturday.

Since then, the two teams have clashed five times at Anoeta in La Liga, with Barca losing four and drawing one of those encounters—the most recent of which being a 1-0 defeat back in January 2015. Betting Expert recently posted a form guide illustrating Barca's lack of success in their recent trips to San Sebastian.

But Barca have evolved into a different beast since then, and the desire to hit back from the Real loss will undoubtedly spur on a more resolute performance. Spanish daily Sport also highlighted this as the beginning of a tough domestic run for the club:

La Real have failed to win any of their last three home outings, but they've also conceded just two goals in that span, drawing twice and losing 1-0 to Las Palmas on March 19.

The mid-table party may not be able to keep up with their guests on Saturday, but this will be no procession for Barca, who will find all three points difficult to come by.

Prediction: Real Sociedad 0-1 Barcelona

Real Return to Bernabeu with a Bang

It's been a week of splendid highs and harrowing lows for Real Madrid, who followed up a 2-1 triumph over Barca with a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Wolfsburg in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League quarter-final on Wednesday.

Speaking to the media after the loss, Los Blancos manager Zinedine Zidane was unsurprisingly eager to move past that result, concentrating fully on the upcoming game against Eibar, per ESPN FC's Dermot Corrigan:

Real have yet to suffer successive defeats under Zidane, who took charge in January, and like with Barcelona, it would be a surprise to see the capital outfit respond with anything but new-found vigour in Saturday's outing.

They could hardly hope for an easier target at present, considering Eibar have failed to win in their last seven games and managed to net just three goals in their last six fixtures.

While Real's form away from home this season has wavered at times, Zidane's men tend to work like a well-oiled machine at the Bernabeu and have scored 60 goals in 16 home Primera Division games this term, the highest in the division.

Los Merengues have bagged 13 of those in their last three home fixtures alone, and the vulnerable-looking Eibar may be unfortunate enough to feel the wrath of a Real team out to prove a point.

Prediction: Real Madrid 4-0 Eibar
