Recap

Eibar's surge up the Liga standings has been an incredible story in the 2015-16 campaign, and while the team have encountered their fair share of lucky breaks, Monday's home win over Granada reminded everyone exactly how good the Basques can be.

As reported by ESPN FC's Adriana Garcia, Eibar should have been relegated last year but were saved at the last minute after Elche were sent down over tax debts. Half a season later, the team is in the middle of a battle for a Europa League ticket.

Monday's win was sorely needed to keep those hopes alive, but early on, the visitors surprisingly dominated possession. Chances were few, but Granada pressed the action. However, it was Takashi Inui who gave the hosts a flattering lead.

AS English hadn't enjoyed the proceedings until that point:

Real Madrid TV's Phil Kitromilides shared that opinion:

But once Eibar grabbed the lead, they did what they've done all season long―play some fantastic football. Within minutes, Enrich doubled the lead, sending the Ipurua into delirium. The hosts even pushed for a third goal, but Granada managed to hold on for dear life until half-time.

Per author Sid Lowe, the Basques were in full control:

The hosts showed their maturity early in the second half, slowing down play and keeping hold of the ball. Few incidents passed until a mix up along the back four gave the visitors a lifeline, and Youssef El Arabi took advantage with 25 minutes left to play.

But just as it looked like Eibar would crumble, Enrich finished off a lovely passing move to restore the two-goal lead. David Cartlidge of beIN Sports USA was impressed:

In-form striker Baston added a fourth and fifth goal to complete a memorable night for Eibar, who leap over Sevilla in the standings and are back up to sixth place.

While they remain outsiders for one of the Europa League tickets, the 2015-16 season has already been a memorable one for Eibar, and it continues to get better.

La Liga's elite teams all grabbed easy wins in Week 20, with Barcelona stealing the show by putting six goals past Athletic Bilbao.

As shared by the club's official Twitter account, manager Luis Enrique refused to read too much into the final result:

Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid also cruised to lopsided wins, beating Sporting Gijon and Las Palmas, respectively. Celta Vigo survived against Levante, winning 4-3, while Villarreal only managed a scoreless draw against Real Betis, throwing the race for the fourth UEFA Champions League spot right open.
