
Alfredo Pacheco, Former NY Red Bulls and El Salvador Footballer, Dies at Age 33
Alfredo Pacheco, formerly a defender for the New York Red Bulls and El Salvador's international side, was shot and killed in his home country on Sunday.
Nelson Renteria of Reuters reported the news, noting the Salvadoran attorney general's office said its "office in Santa Ana processed the crime scene of the murder of Alfredo Pacheco at 3:30 a.m. in a petrol station."
Per the report, authorities said Pacheco was talking with friends in the station when "an unknown assailant" opened fire on the group "various times." Two other people were hospitalised after the attack.

Pacheco appeared 14 times for the Red Bulls while on loan in 2009 and played 86 times for La Selecta between 2002 and 2013, making him their most capped player at the time.
