Russell Westbrook scored 23 points, Kevin Durant added 21 and the Oklahoma City Thunder routed the Los Angeles Lakers, 120-85, at the Staples Center on Wednesday night.

This was actually a close game in the first half.

The Lakers led 42-39 at one point during the second quarter, climbing out of a 25-10 hole thanks to some terrific play from Kobe Bryant.

From that juncture on, however, it was all Thunder.

Oklahoma City embarked on a 40-4 run, going up 57-46 at halftime and taking a 79-46 lead in the third period.

OKC dominated Los Angeles inside, outscoring Byron Scott's club 72-36 in the paint.

Westbrook and Durant did not play the fourth quarter, as the Thunder led 90-61 heading into the final frame.

Bryant led the Lakers with 19 points.

Oklahoma City shot 53.7 percent from the floor and outrebounded Los Angeles 61-35.

The Lakers hit on just 36 percent of their field-goal attempts.

This game marked the second time OKC blew out LA over the last four days. The Thunder also beat the Lakers, 118-78, this past Saturday.

Both of these teams will play on Christmas Day.

The Thunder will host the Chicago Bulls at 2:30 p.m. ET while the Lakers will take on the Los Angeles Clippers at 10:30 p.m. ET.
