Tony Pulis Responds to Jurgen Klopp Jibe After Liverpool Draw with West Brom
West Bromwich Albion manager Tony Pulis has responded to the jibes from his Liverpool counterpart Jurgen Klopp after Sunday's 2-2 draw, in which the latter accused his side of only playing long passes.
As reported by Sky Sports' Paul Vinnell, Pulis couldn't hide his sarcasm, particularly after he discovered his team only played three more long passes than the Reds:
"I'm really sorry and apologise now to Liverpool Football Club for playing three more balls over the top than they did - and that stat is courtesy of Sky Sports. Maybe he should take notice of that. It's disappointing.
If I had a team that was worth £200m playing against a team that was worth less than £20m and we never won that game, I'd be doing my best to divert it away from the fact that I had 10 times more value on the pitch than my opposition number had and couldn't win the game.

Klopp was visibly agitated toward the end of Sunday's match and refused to shake hands with Pulis, before telling reporters he didn't want to because it was not a “friendly game,” per Joe Rimmer of the Liverpool Echo.
It was a frustrating night for the Reds, who barely gave away any chances to the Baggies yet conceded twice. One of the goals came following a Simon Mignolet error, and the loss of Dejan Lovren to injury after a wild―and unpunished―tackle from Craig Gardner came at a particularly bad time heading into the festive period.
All these factors likely contributed to Klopp's frustrations, and they may have led to the harsh words after the match. The German has always been a fan of beautiful football, as long as it's effective, and his Liverpool squad has done its best to oblige so far, per OptaJoe:
Klopp is yet to respond to Pulis' barb but could do so during his pre-match press conference on Friday.
