2016 Copa America Centenario Final Will be Held at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey
Copa America Centenario organizers announced Wednesday that next year's tournament final will take place at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
U.S. Soccer, which was selected to serve as the host for the 100th anniversary event, confirmed the championship game location on its official website. The 16-team showcase is scheduled to start on June 3, 2016, and will conclude at the 82,000-seat venue on June 26.
The tournament will feature 10 teams from the South American region (CONMEBOL), including Argentina, Brazil and reigning Copa America champion Chile. The other six sides will come out of North America (CONCACAF), highlighted by the United States and Mexico.

Typically the event has been held every four years in recent cycles. It is being held in back-to-back years to celebrate the anniversary and things will return to normal in 2019.
The United States is the first country from outside South America to act as host. Selecting the home of the New York Jets and New York Giants as the location for the final illustrates the scale of the event.
U.S. Soccer also provided the list of other host sites leading up to the title game:
"Foxborough (Gillette Stadium), Chicago (Soldier Field), Houston (NRG Stadium), Pasadena (Rose Bowl), New York/New Jersey (MetLife Stadium), Orlando (Orlando Citrus Bowl Stadium), Philadelphia (Lincoln Financial Field), Phoenix/Glendale (University of Phoenix Stadium), Bay Area (Levi's Stadium) and Seattle (CenturyLink Field).
"
Further details about the schedule, including format and match dates for each venue, will be released Thursday, according to U.S. Soccer.
The tournament is one of the summer's marquee soccer events along with UEFA Euro 2016. Serving as host will add some extra pressure to a United States side that suffered some frustrating defeats during an up-and-down 2015 campaign, including a loss to rival Mexico in the CONCACAF Cup.
