Jayme Otomewo, Deonte Reynolds Dismissed by ASU Football Following Arrests
Arizona State reportedly dismissed safety Jayme Otomewo and defensive lineman Deonte Reynolds from the football team Monday following their arrests Sunday.
Chris Karpman of Scout.com reported the players were arrested and each charged with one count of second degree burglary a day after the Sun Devils' football banquet. No further information about the incident that led to the arrests was made immediately available.
ABC 15 Arizona noted both players have bonded out of jail.
Neither player made an impact for the Sun Devils this season.
Otomewo provided depth in the defensive secondary and didn't record a tackle. He was a 3-star prospect in the class of 2013, according to 247Sports.
Reynolds was also a 3-star recruit after a stint with JUCO Contra Costa College, per 247Sports. The Scout report notes he was in the process of sitting out a redshirt season.
Arizona State went 6-6 during the regular season, including an upset of UCLA. The Sun Devils are now preparing for a clash with West Virginia in the Motel 6 Cactus Bowl on Jan. 2. Otomewo and Reynolds will no longer take part in those festivities.
