Liverpool Transfer News: Jurgen Klopp Offered January Funds, Latest Rumours
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is reportedly reluctant to add any new players to his squad in January despite the Anfield hierarchy being open to bringing in some new additions.
According to David Maddock of the Mirror, Fenway Sports Group—Liverpool's parent company—are prepared to release funds to aid acquisitions in the new year. But Klopp "has not even requested a sit-down with his Fenway Sports Group bosses to talk about potential targets."
Maddock added that the German manager will go into the January market only for a genuinely top-class player, such as his former Borussia Dortmund charge, Neven Subotic.

Recent reports have suggested that the centre-back could be open to a move to Liverpool and is available for as little as £3.5 million, per German outlet Bild (h/t the Liverpool Echo's David Prentice).
The Serbian Subotic has fallen down the pecking order at Dortmund and made only two Bundesliga appearances so far this season, per WhoScored.com.
The 27-year-old would undoubtedly be an upgrade on the inconsistent likes of Martin Skrtel and Dejan Lovren in the Reds defence, and it is becoming increasingly likely that he will leave the Westfalenstadion, per Bundesliga expert Alex Chaffer:
Since Klopp's arrival at Anfield in early October, the Reds have looked to be a much better outfit than they did during former manager Brendan Rodgers' tenure.
Bleacher Report's Sam Tighe has even tipped them to be Premier League title contenders this season:
However, a defeat to Newcastle United and a late-snatched draw with West Bromwich Albion in their last two league fixtures have uncovered a continuing lack of quality.
Klopp needs to build a bigger, better squad, and Real Madrid winger Denis Cheryshev could reportedly be another January addition at Anfield.

The Russian has reportedly decided to call time on his stuttering career at the Bernabeu, clearing long-term suitors Liverpool to finally snap him up in the new year, per Spanish outlet Fichajes (via Metro's Jamie Sanderson).
Cheryshev, 24, has played only 33 minutes in La Liga for Real this season, as he has found it hard to claim a starting spot ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale, Isco and James Rodriguez, per WhoScored.com.
However, he remains a quality player and would add genuine width on the left to Liverpool's squad, which has been sorely lacking since Raheem Sterling's summer departure.
