Twitter Reacts as Arsenal Beat Aston Villa to Go Top of the Premier League
Arsenal went into Sunday's Premier League clash with Aston Villa on a high after securing Champions League progress in midweek.
Villa, however, were in a rut, bottom of the table with just six points and facing a huge battle to stay in the division.
In the studio, Sky Sports welcomed David Moyes, and it didn't take the former Everton and Manchester United manager long to deliver some interesting insight:

"Moyes on Ozil: "Think the jury's out on him a bit" Moyes on Fellaini: "Technically very good. Professional, hard-working. Great attitude"

Into the action at Villa Park, and it didn't take long for Arsenal to take the lead, Olivier Giroud tucking away an eighth-minute penalty after Theo Walcott was brought down by Alan Hutton:

Though the penalty award caused some trouble for co-commentator Niall Quinn:
"Worth remembering watching those replays that Quinn initially went with "free kick given for back pass"
— Daniel Storey (@danielstorey85) December 13, 2015"
"Niall Quinn: Completely unfit for purpose.

Thirty minutes later, Arsenal doubled their lead, Mesut Ozil (who else) squaring for Aaron Ramsey to finish into an open net:

Things weren't looking good for Aston Villa:
"Love that box-to-box play from Ramsey. Nice goal for Arsenal, but Villa really poor.

"“You’re going down with the Chelsea” sing #afc fans to #avfc

"If Alan Hutton were a racehorse they'd be serving him in the pies at Villa Park right now
— JJ Bull (@jj_bull) December 13, 2015"
"Villa have all the hallmarks of a doomed side. No player putting their foot on the ball, individual mistakes, Alan Hutton playing.
— Daniel Storey (@danielstorey85) December 13, 2015"
"There have been some great escapes over the years, but can't see this poor villa side avoiding relegation...it's been coming for years too
— Simon Johnson (@sjstandardsport) December 13, 2015"
The home side rallied in the second half to no avail. Ozil left the field shortly before full-time with the Gunners well in control:
"Ozil heads down the tunnel after being substituted. A Villa fan gives him an earful of abuse. Ozil looks at him and blows a kiss.
— James Olley (@JamesOlley) December 13, 2015"
Arsenal closed out the game with ease to go top of the Premier League, as goalkeeper Petr Cech claimed an impressive record:
"Two weeks ago: club in crisis. Today: top of the Premier League table. #TypicalArsenal pic.twitter.com/57fFtqxeYz
— Bleacher Report UK (@br_uk) December 13, 2015"
"169 - Petr Cech has now equalled David James' record for the most keeper clean sheets in Premier League history. Dazzling.
