Celtics F Jared Sullinger on His Success on the Boards: Mama 'Gave Me Her Booty'
Boston Celtics forward Jared Sullinger has been a monster on the boards recently, totaling 36 rebounds over his past two games.
According to the big man himself, the reason for his rebounding skills can be found in his genes—and in his jeans.
After Wednesday night's game against the Chicago Bulls, Sullinger was asked why he has been able to get so many rebounds lately. The fourth-year forward didn't attribute that knack to his 6'9" stature or aggressiveness. Instead, he credited his mother, Barbara Sullinger.
"My mom," Sullinger said, per Taylor C. Snow of Celtics.com. "That's a blessing my mom gave me; she gave me her booty, so I can give all the credit to my mama."
If you say so, Jared.
The former Ohio State star has been among the best rebounders in the league this season, averaging 9.7 boards per game. He may not be as tall as some of the elite big men in the NBA, but he apparently has something that they don't.
