Cristiano Ronaldo (11 Goals) and Karim Benzema (4 Goals)

Los Blancos were rampant from start to finish at the Bernabeu on Tuesday, and Benzema opened the scoring after 12 minutes when he tapped in a rebound from Isco's effort and soon after headed home Ronaldo's exquisite cross.

The Portuguese superstar got on the scoresheet himself shortly before half-time when his powerful, dipping free-kick squirmed under goalkeeper Johan Wiland.

Just two minutes into the second period, Ronaldo had his brace when Isco's blocked shot fell kindly for him on the edge of the six-yard box. Another three minutes later and the 30-year-old had his third when he latched on to Danilo's low cross and fired in after shifting the ball past two defenders.

The goal was his 10th of the group stage, which is a record, as AS English noted:

Football journalist Rik Sharma believed the breakdown of his goals to be noteworthy:

Ronaldo wasn't done there, though, and in the 59th minute—19 minutes after bagging his first—he turned in Isco's cross.

Football writer Liam Canning hailed his phenomenal goalscoring ability:

BT Sport Football shared his stunning haul:

Los Blancos continued to push forward in search of more goals, and after Mateo Kovacic added the hosts' seventh, Benzema fired into the bottom corner after avoiding the challenge of a defender with consummate ease.

Real Madrid TV's Phil Kitromilides noted the significance of the hat-trick for the Frenchman, while as Squawka Football revealed, the goal also ensured another record was set on the night:

The result and performance should ease some of the pressure on manager Rafael Benitez, who has endured the vocal frustrations of the Madridistas in recent weeks—even in the 4-1 win over Getafe on Saturday.

However, the quality of the opposition—or lack thereof—equally mitigates the effect it will have on their fans. The likes of Ronaldo and Benzema will need start replicating their impressive performances against La Liga's and Europe's best and brightest to truly appease Real's fickle support.
