Sepp Blatter Reportedly Under Investigation by FBI: Latest Comments, Reaction
The FBI is reportedly investigating FIFA president Sepp Blatter for his possible knowledge of a $100 million (£66.2 million) bribery scandal within football's governing body.
As BBC Panorama reported on Sunday, the FBI obtained a letter claiming Blatter had "full knowledge" of sports marketing company ISL's $100 million worth of payments made to FIFA officials for granting "lucrative television and marketing rights throughout the 1990s."
The payees reportedly include Blatter's predecessor, Joao Havelange, and ex-FIFA executive Ricardo Teixeira.

Blatter previously denied knowing anything about the bribes, but the FBI has now reportedly uncovered evidence—through a letter Havelange wrote—indicating that is untrue.
The 79-year-old Switzerland native is already serving a 90-day suspension from FIFA while under investigation for his role in a "disloyal payment" made to UEFA president Michel Platini, per BBC Sport.
Blatter and FIFA have been implicated in numerous corruption scandals over the past few months, with the U.S. Department of Justice indicting top executives over the summer.
The American authorities charged 16 more officials earlier this month, with the former Brazil football federation president, Teixeira, chief among them.
Blatter has been at his post as president since 1998, and his successor is finally set to be named on Feb. 26 when the elections take place.
