Saturday Recap
Granada offered little for large swathes of the match as they welcomed Atletico Madrid to the Estadio Nuevo Los Carmenes and sought to sit back and limit Atleti's opportunities.
The visitors were nevertheless ahead after 20 minutes, though, after Diego Godin rose and powered home Koke's delivery. As OptaJose noted, the Uruguayan has form in this area:
Godin's goal slightly brought Granada out of their shell, but neither side were able to find a killer touch in the final third. Football journalist Dermot Corrigan summarised the proceedings:
Atleti finally killed the game deep into the second half thanks to Antoine Griezmann's seventh league goal of the season, the Frenchman lashing in a lovely ball from Oliver Torres.
The win keeps Los Rojiblancos firmly on track in the title race—all they need now is to work on their play in the attacking third.
Barcelona put in a dominant performance away at Valencia, but were ultimately punished by some unusually profligate finishing.
The Blaugrana's attacking trident tore through Los Che's defence on a number of occasions, but were only able to muster a single shot on target in the first half.
Shortly after the break, Luis Suarez was fortunate to escape a red card, per Corrigan:
Predictably, the Uruguayan was the one to finally break the deadlock as he scored from a tight angle to find the net in his seventh consecutive league outing.

Barca were unable to kill the game off with a second goal as Valencia hung on and Santi Mina grabbed the dramatic equaliser after some exceptional control from Paco Alcacer.
Lucas Perez got Deportivo off the mark after 22 minutes with a dipping, well-struck free-kick—his 10th league goal of the season and 13th in all competitions. La Liga writer Adam hailed the Spaniard's form, as well as that of his team:
"Lucas Perez-running out of words, he is simply on fire, stunning goal to open the scoring. Riazor becoming a tough place to go once again.

Substitute Vicente Iborra equalised for Sevilla from a Fernando Llorente chest-down just five minutes after coming on to salvage a point.
Celta Vigo took the lead in the first half through Theo Bongonda, who applied the finish after latching onto an exquisite through ball from the excellent Nolito following a lovely move by the visitors.
However, with Jonny Castro sent off early in the second half Celta struggled to build on their lead and with less than 10 minutes remaining, Betis were able to make their man advantage count through Jorge Molina.
Earlier, Real Madrid produced a rampant first-half display as they netted all four of their goals before half-time.

Karim Benzema scored a brace after 15 minutes, first netting with a close-range volley and then after working some space well following a foul on Cristiano Ronaldo that went unpunished.
As football writer Ben Hayward noted, Ronaldo did not join in with the celebrations of his team-mates:
The superstar soon turned provider for Gareth Bale to tuck home after Ronaldo both kept the ball in and knocked it down for the Welshman with a lovely header, and Ronaldo had a goal of his own just minutes later following a lightning-fast counter-attack.
The second half was a much more tedious affair as Real largely sat back on their lead to the chagrin of their fans, while Alexis headed home a consolation for the visitors.
Corrigan noted the less-than-ideal atmosphere inside the Bernabeu:
While the win was comprehensive, Los Blancos are yet to produce the kind of sublime start-to-finish performance their fans crave, and that could well prove costly for manager Rafa Benitez if he isn't able to right that sooner rather than later.
Real should be able to dominate when they play Malmo in the UEFA Champions League, but even a win won't stop the pressure mounting on the Spaniard if they can't maintain a strong performance throughout the 90 minutes.
