Leicester vs. Manchester United: Score, Reaction from 2015 Premier League Match
Leicester City and Manchester United played out a 1-1 draw at the King Power Stadium during Saturday's Premier League action. It was a fair result after an even match that didn't include a whole lot of clear-cut chances.
Jamie Vardy set a new Premier League record for scoring in consecutive matches, netting a goal in his 11th straight game to give the hosts the lead. Bastian Schweinsteiger equalised on the brink of half-time, however, and neither team found a breakthrough after the break.
The result means Manchester City remain the Premier League leaders ahead of Leicester thanks to a better goal differential, while United sit just one point behind the two.

United manager Louis van Gaal gave Patrick McNair his first start of the season, opting for a 3-5-2 formation that also featured Michael Carrick, per the club's official Twitter account:
Bleacher Report UK's Sam Tighe thought that was good news for Vardy:
McNair shadowed Vardy everywhere he went in the first minutes, and action was slow to get started. United tried to keep the ball in midfield, knowing the massive threat the Foxes present on the counter-attack.
Riyad Mahrez stayed busy, first lobbing a cross that missed the forwards in the box before David De Gea snatched the ball from under his nose. Bleacher Report UK was not entertained:
Daley Blind did well to stop a dangerous counter after the first corner of the match, and Wayne Rooney tested Kasper Schmeichel with a quick shot. Mahrez also tried his luck after some good work from Vardy, but his effort was deflected for a corner.
Ashley Young received the first booking of the match for pulling down Mahrez, and Blind did the same minutes later as United seemed determined to snuff out the quick transitions from the hosts by any means necessary.
After 24 minutes, it became clear why. The Foxes broke quickly after a failed corner from the visitors, and Christian Fuchs launched Vardy into space. The in-form forward saw De Gea rush off his line too quickly and angled a shot into the left corner to break Ruud van Nistelrooy's record.
Leicester City's Twitter account was ecstatic:
Bleacher Report UK joined in on the fun:
Even the former record holder took to Twitter to congratulate Vardy:
Mahrez tried his luck again with a tricky shot that forced De Gea into a good save as the hosts pushed for a second goal. On the other side of the pitch, Rooney couldn't find the target with a header, and United started to increase the pressure on the Foxes.
A series of set-piece opportunities came to nothing until just before half-time, when Schweinsteiger found himself on the end of a great delivery from Blind and equalised from close range.
It would be the final real chance of the first half, and sports writer Bill Barnwell noted the home fans took it in stride:
The Red Devils started the second half on the front foot and came close to taking the lead early, as Young found Schweinsteiger with a well-worked free-kick. Schmeichel could only push the German's effort to Rooney, who fired the rebound wide from an offside position.
Space was more readily available in the second half, as United showed more attacking intensity. Meanwhile, the Leicester fans were having some fun at Rooney's expense, via Paddy Power:
Schweinsteiger continued to find success in the air, connecting with another free-kick from Young, but this time, his lay-off didn't find the target.
De Gea was forced into action again to deny Leonardo Ulloa, who had entered the pitch just minutes earlier and nearly found an answer for Mahrez's excellent ball in.
Memphis Depay made his way onto the pitch to replace Rooney after 68 minutes, with the latter failing to convince once again. Football writer Miguel Delaney was glad Van Gaal made the decision:
The match was on a knife's edge, with both teams threatening at times, although the better chances fell to the hosts. Ulloa couldn't get a shot on target from the edge of the box, firing over the bar.
Juan Mata nearly found an opening after a good cross from Memphis, but the Leicester defence managed to deflect his shot in the nick of time. De Gea then had to stay alert to clear a ball before Vardy could reach it, as both teams seemed nervous in the final minutes.
Memphis couldn't react quickly enough when the ball fell to him inside the box, and Anthony Martial was just a step too slow to chase down a ball before Schmeichel cleared. Danny Drinkwater and Matteo Darmian also tried to force a winner, but the late push by both teams didn't result in any more goals.
Manchester United will host West Ham United in Week 15 of the Premier League season, while Leicester face a tricky trip to Wales to take on Swansea City.
