Leicester City's Jamie Vardy set a new top-flight scoring record as he helped the Foxes earn a point at home to Manchester United. Vardy broke ex-United man Ruud van Nistelrooy's record for scoring in consecutive Premier League games, according to BBC Sport:

Junior Stanislas: 12 Points

Winger Junior Stanislas darted off the flank to score twice and help Bournemouth salvage a vital point from a losing position. Down two at home against Everton, the relegation-threatened Cherries appeared headed for yet more trouble before Stanislas led a revival.

BOURNEMOUTH, ENGLAND - NOVEMBER 28: Junior Stanislas of Bournemouth celebrates scoring his team's second goal during the Barclays Premier League match between A.F.C. Bournemouth and Everton at Vitality Stadium on November 28, 2015 in Bournemouth, England

He made two smart and ghosting runs into the middle to meet delivery from wide areas. Stanislas is a rare scorer at this level, but turned on the style to give last season's Championship winners a slither of hope.

Ross Barkley: 10 Points

Bright young thing Ross Barkley is producing chances at a much improved rate for Everton. His delivery let centre-back Ramiro Funes Mori head the Toffees in front early in an eventful game at Bournemouth.

Barkley even added a goal late on in what proved to be a wild finish. With greater attacking output, Barkley is making rapid progress this season, as Squawka noted:

Odion Ighalo: 9 Points

Ighalo continues to love life in the Premier League. The Hornets' frontman staked the newly promoted club into an early lead at Villa Park.

His goal further underlined Watford's reliance on the Nigerian in forward areas this season:

Once again, he proved decisive in earning the newly promoted side three precious points.

Patrick van Aanholt: 12 Points

Dutch left-back Patrick van Aanholt helped Sunderland keep a clean sheet at home to Stoke City. But the 25-year-old also scored big because he bagged the home side's opening goal to help vanquish the Potters.

His raiding runs from the left constantly proved a menace for the visitors. The former Chelsea prospect is showing more impetus and confidence going forward this season. He's providing Sunderland with a very useful attacking outlet.

Van Aanholt is growing in stature for revived Sunderland.

Kevin De Bruyne: 13 Points

De Bruyne had sunk into a barren spell after a fast start to life at City. But he hit back with a vengeance against the Saints.

After opening the scoring in the first half, De Bruyne assisted Aleksandar Kolarov's goal, City's third, after the break. It was a typically giving moment from a player who has always been a keen supplier of goals, according to WhoScored.com:

De Bruyne has added greater flexibility to City's attack this season. His ability to thrive from either flank, through the middle or even as a No. 10 gives manager Manuel Pellegrini a plethora of options regarding personnel and formation.

De Bruyne's varied and clever movement also allows the Citizens to play with more fluidity in forward areas. With the shape changing based on where the Belgian roams, defenders face a nightmare trying to react and keep shape.

Yannick Bolasie, 12 Points and James McArthur, 12 Points

As Yannick Bolasie goes, so go Palace, at least in an attacking sense. Fortunately for manager Alan Pardew, this was one of the mercurial winger's good days.

Newcastle United's Dutch midfielder Vurnon Anita (R) tackles Crystal Palace's French-born Congolese midfielder Yannick Bolasie during the English Premier League football match between Crystal Palace and Newcastle United at Selhurst Park in south London on

He ripped a woeful Newcastle United defence to shreds en route to a pair of goals that keyed a massive home win. With his lightning pace, impressive close control and underrated quality as a finisher, Bolasie boasts the ability to do this to any defence.

He just needs to master the art of consistency.

James McArthur has been a consistently steady performer at this level for years. The one-time Wigan Athletic man used his tireless running and anticipation to net a pair of goals as Palace ran riot.

Learning some consistency is also vital for City. A big win one week removed from losing 4-1 at home to Liverpool is typical of this mercurial team.

Owners of the strongest squad in the league, the Manchester club has to start putting some lengthy winning runs together if they are going to make their quality count in the title race.
