Vardy Equals Van Nistelrooy Record
It would have been difficult to imagine Vardy equalling the Premier League goalscoring record only a few months ago, but that's exactly what the player has done.
The No. 9 scored only five goals in 34 league appearances last term, according to WhoScored.com, and looked nowhere near the kind of striker who could match Van Nistelrooy's phenomenal record at Manchester United.
Vardy has taken his game to a new level that has seen him linked with a move to Real Madrid in recent weeks, as reported by Sky Sports (h/t Goal).

The striker was on form once again on Saturday, drilling home a low shot to claim Leicester's opener on the stroke of half-time. Vardy collected a Leonardo Ulloa pass, and the attacker skipped past the Magpie's Moussa Sissoko to score.
The Foxes' man of the moment had been a doubt for the match after picking a knock on international duty, sustaining a hip injury, per Sanghera. But Leicester prepared the player, with Vardy commenting on his fitness and team-mates after the victory: "The physios have done brilliantly to get me fit. We know we can cause teams problems and are solid at the back too. We have a never-say-die attitude and will fight for each other until the end."

Vardy was once again in perfect harmony with Riyad Mahrez, whose form has helped catapult Leicester to parts unknown in the league.
The pair have proved to be English football's most devastating attacking duo, as opponents fail to stop Ranieri's men from scoring on a weekly basis.
The Italian was delighted for Vardy after the match and name-dropped a world-class striker in his post-match comments, per Sanghera: "It is fantastic for Jamie Vardy. He is a great champion and did well in training. I am glad because we played like a team. I also had Gabriel Batistuta at Fiorentina score in 11 consecutive matches and I hope Jamie can achieve this."

Leicester now face Manchester United in a battle of the top two, with the winner taking control at the summit of the Premier League.
Last season, the Foxes thrashed the Red Devils in the corresponding fixture, beating their opponents 5-3 in a historic win for the east Midlands club, as reported by BBC Sport's Aimee Lewis.
Aguero Returns And Scores, But City Capitulate
Sergio Aguero was back in the Manchester City team for the visit of Liverpool, but the Argentina international could not stop his side falling to defeat against the rampant Reds as they lost 4-1.

The striker netted on the stroke of half-time, but City were already 3-0 down after a calamitous defensive display against a counter-attacking Liverpool side.
However, Aguero took his goal with style, shifting the ball onto his right foot and curling home his shot from 20 yards to give the hosts a modicum of hope.
Presenter Gary Lineker tipped his hat to the mercurial player:

The goal was the striker's seventh of the current league campaign, placing him equal with Olivier Giroud, Odion Ighalo and Mahrez.
It was a devastating defeat for City before they travel to Serie A holders Juventus in the Champions League.
Their back four were as bad as they have been in recent memory, and Manuel Pellegrini looked helpless on the touchline as he watched his team be torn apart.
The return of Aguero is important for City, but with no spine or application in defence, it will need a huge change of fortune for the Sky Blues to recover their form.
Question marks have hung over Pellegrini's focus on his defence, but now they are conceding goals in an alarming fashion.
