Daily Fantasy Football November 21: DFS Stock Up, Stock Down

David KenyonNov 21, 2015

The final days of the week are critical for daily fantasy football preparation, because teams and reports offer a little more clarity on significant injuries.

One of the NFL's most consistent performers is bound for a tough game, while a collection of mid-level players are trending in opposite directions on DraftKings.

Factors used when compiling the list include impact of injuries, recent trends and the impending matchups. Use this information to help you put the final touches on your Week 11 lineup.

Stock Up: Darren Sproles, Philadelphia Eagles

1 of 6

The timeshare in the Philadelphia Eagles backfield hasn't been favorable to Darren Sproles since the early weeks of the season, but Week 11 should give him another shot.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media noted Ryan Mathews will be unavailable on Sunday when Philly hosts the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Mathews scored a touchdown in four of his five recent outings, so that production must also be replaced.

While DeMarco Murray is set for a larger workload, Sproles' snap count will noticeably increase, too. He tallied five catches for 34 yards in a slightly expanded role last week.

At $3,400 with high points-per-reception upside, he's a valuable punt play who should score double digits. If Sproles adds a touchdown, the near-minimum-priced option should reach the high teens.

Stock Down: Marshawn Lynch, Seattle Seahawks

2 of 6

Marshawn Lynch has battled a couple of injuries this season, and he's getting closer to full strength.

According to Liz Mathews of ESPN 710 Seattle, head coach Pete Carroll said Lynch is on the "positive side of questionable." He had a similar designation last week and logged the majority of snaps.

However, the Seattle Seahawks running back still isn't a top DFS option. Beast Mode hasn't scored twice in any particular matchup and doesn't catch many passes.

Lynch has only topped the 20-point mark once, and while that was against the San Francisco 49ers, his fantasy scoring ceiling lacks appeal at $6,700.

Stock Up: Ted Ginn Jr., Carolina Panthers

3 of 6

To be fair, this is a reasonably scary notion.

Among players with at least 50 targets, nobody has a higher drop percentage than Ted Ginn Jr. at 13.6, and his eight outright drops are tied for the most in the NFL.

If that hasn't scared you off, though, the speedster will have ample opportunities to make a sizable dent in the box score.

Per Football Outsiders, only Corey Brown played more snaps than Ginn in Week 10. NFL Media's Albert Breer noted coach Ron Rivera said Brown is "very doubtful."

Ginn comes with a fair share of risk, but a $3,500 price tag, high snap volume and downfield-focused role make him an intriguing play.

Stock Down: DeAndre Hopkins, Houston Texans

4 of 6

DeAndre Hopkins has reached the elite level of fantasy receivers, but Week 11 is far from a favorable outlook.

Although the Houston Texans wideout remains a must-start in season-long leagues, he'll face top cornerback Darrelle Revis while adjusting to quarterback T.J. Yates.

Yates and Hopkins connected for a touchdown during Monday Night Football, so the duo isn't quite starting from scratch. Nevertheless, Hopkins would need to reach approximately 30 points to reach value for his $8,800 price.

Considering the matchup and quarterback switch, it wouldn't be wise to bank on Hopkins having an explosive day.

Stock Up: Jamison Crowder, Washington Football Team

5 of 6

DeSean Jackson and/or Pierre Garcon are set for the Josh Norman treatment, so Kirk Cousins will often look toward Jamison Crowder against the Carolina Panthers.

Fortunately for the Washington offense, it has a small yet important advantage.

Per Breer, Rivera said No. 2 cornerback Charles Tillman is "very doubtful" as well. That means Colin Jones, who has logged just 57 defensive snaps all season, will likely take over at nickelback.

Crowder costs just $3,800, but he's tallied at least four receptions for 40 yards in seven straight appearances. The rookie also caught his first touchdown of the year last week.

Win or lose, Crowder should have a superb, low-priced outing.

Stock Down: John Brown, Arizona Cardinals

6 of 6

The Arizona Cardinals are on a roll, and they're about to have a little more John Brown in the lineup.

According to Darren Urban of the team's official site, Brown is optimistic he'll play on Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Unfortunately for the Cardinals, the speedster admitted the hamstring injury hasn't completely healed. That's not good news for a receiver who hasn't caught a pass in three weeks.

He should become a valuable piece toward the end of the season, but Brown's $5,200 tag is a massive risk.
