Brazil vs. Peru: Score and Reaction from 2018 World Cup Qualifier
Led by Man of the Match Douglas Costa, who had a hand in each of their goals, Brazil defeated Peru 3-0 in a 2018 World Cup qualifier on Tuesday night.
Costa had a goal, an assist and saw a rebound off of his shot get turned in for a goal in what was one of his finest matches while wearing the yellow of Brazil.
Both sides came into Tuesday's match having just one win in qualifying out of their first three games. Brazil have not lost to Peru since 1985, and that didn't change on Tuesday.

Yet it was Peru who had the game's first chance when Paolo Guerrero saw a left-footed effort from the left of Brazil's box saved away by Alisson Becker.
The early chance jolted Brazil into gear, and they found the match's opener via Costa in the 22nd minute. His chance came thanks to Willian, who worked his way into the box and sent a cross to the approaching Costa just mere feet from the goal line.
It wasn't easy, as Costa had to leave his feet to make contact with the cross, and his hit wasn't clean. But it was just as effective. Guia do Futebol has the goal:
It was Willian's play down the wing that was worthy of the accolades, according to Brazil Stats:
"Willian is a beast. Definitely Brazil NT's best performer in 2015. He deserves all credits for it. We were harsh on him, but he won us over.

Neymar, who was captaining Brazil's side on Tuesday, had two chances within five minutes, starting in the 32nd minute, but saw both attempts fly over the goal. His play under manager Dunga has not impressed journalist Rafael Hernandez:
Costa almost found his second of the night in the 39th, when he took a free-kick from the right side and, from a near-impossible angle, struck an effort off of the woodwork. Bayern & Germany has the play:
Peru came back with a rare chance in the 54th minute, when Christian Cueva had a chance inside the six-yard box to the left of Becker's goal. His elevated shot was saved well by the Brazilian 'keeper, allowing the hosts to stay ahead.
Just three minutes later, Renato Augusto doubled Brazil's lead when he sent a shot from 18 yards out into the bottom right corner of the Peru goal. It was his first goal with the national team, and he looked emotional after putting his team ahead by two.
The goal was created by Costa, who weaved his way through three Peruvian defenders to lay off a chance for Augusto's shot, as Varsky Sports shows:
Augusto is a player who has not featured in a Brazil side since 2011, and those who watch him are more accustomed to seeing him play for his domestic side in Corinthians, including Gol TV's Felipe Mekhitarian:
Defender Filipe Luis made it three for Brazil in the 77th minute, also his first international goal as he found his way inside the six-yard box to clean up a rebound off of a shot from none other than Costa.
With the win, Brazil move into third place in the South American qualifying group stage, as they have a better goal differential than Paraguay and Chile, who also have seven points through their first four matches. Peru move to ninth as their new goal differential pushes them down past Bolivia.
