South American giants Argentina are desperate to turn their form around after a poor start to their qualifying campaign, which has seen the squad earn just two points from their first three matches. That leaves the Albiceleste in ninth place—just ahead of Venezuela, the other winless team in the group.

Argentina manager Gerardo Martino knows his team need to turn things around in a hurry, beginning with a win in Colombia, per Goal.com's Tom Beck

"

It was a positive performance, but from the points [view] no. We need to win in Colombia. The team made an effort throughout the match to win, this was highlighted in the first half. They [Brazil] had an effectiveness that we did not.

[…] If the response is that we must stand up, so be it.

"

The Colombians were soundly beaten by Uruguay on Matchday 2 but received a major boost with the return of Rodriguez, who scored the equaliser in their 1-1 draw against Chile. With the Real Madrid man running the show, Colombia look far more threatening in the attacking third, even with Atletico Madrid striker Jackson Martinez out with an injury, per AS.

Argentina have major injury concerns in attack themselves, as Lionel Messi, Sergio Aguero and Carlos Tevez will all miss Tuesday's clash. Ezequiel Lavezzi put together a strong performance against Brazil, and he, along with Gonzalo Higuain, will be tasked with carrying the scoring load for the Albiceleste.

Chile and Uruguay sit in second and third place in the standings respectively, and both teams could put themselves in a strong position to qualify with a win on Matchday 4. The Copa America winners are one of just two undefeated teams left, while a surging Ecuador squad ruined Uruguay's perfect start on Matchday 3.

Edinson Cavani scored in the 2-1 loss, his first goal for the national team in over a year, per the Champions League's official Twitter account:

With Luis Suarez still sidelined because of suspension, the pressure is on Cavani to step up and carry the scoring load. Per Bleacher Report's Jonathan Johnson, he's making a habit of slow starts to the season, but last year, he pulled through when his team needed it most:

"

Both times El Matador was underwhelming, and he was receiving intense criticism in 2014-15 after reaching his nadir in a 1-1 home draw in Ligue 1 against AS Monaco in the same way that he is taking flak now for his inept display in the 1-0 loss away at Real Madrid in the Champions League.

Cavani recovered last term and went on to enjoy a very strong end of season, and Blanc will be hoping that the Uruguay international does the same this campaign.

"

Whether he'll be able to do so against Chile remains to be seen. Bayern Munich's Arturo Vidal scored in Chile's 1-1 draw against Colombia and seems to have found his form, and his ability to shield the Chilean defence and dominate midfield means Cavani may not see too much of the ball on Tuesday.

Brazil have climbed into the top four and have a chance to put some distance between themselves and the rest of the teams chasing the leaders when they host Peru. The visitors shocked Paraguay on Matchday 3 thanks to a goal from Jefferson Farfan, but they remain one of the weaker teams in CONMEBOL qualifying.

Ecuador's perfect start should continue against Venezuela, who have yet to earn a single point from three matches.
