France vs. Germany: Score and Twitter Reaction from 2015 Friendly
France beat Germany 2-0 in their friendly match in Paris, taking a psychological edge before UEFA Euro 2016 in the summer. The results were overshadowed, however, by events that unfolded across Paris during the match, as reported by CNN's Steve Almasy and Jim Bitterman.
Olivier Giroud and Andre-Pierre Gignac scored the goals that gave the French the well-earned win over the World Cup titleholders.
France boss Didier Deschamps decided to make six changes to his side after last month's victory over Denmark, with only Raphael Varane, Blaise Matuidi, Antoine Griezmann, Olivier Giroud and Anthony Martial retaining their places.

Germany manager Joachim Low made five alterations to the team that won against Georgia, with Sami Khedira, Antonio Rudiger, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Julian Draxler and Mario Gomez being drafted in.

German football writer Clark Whitney speculated how Low would set up his side:
The hosts dominated the opening moments at the Stade de France, forcing the world champions onto their back foot.
Paul Pogba showed his inimitable quality with the ball, finding the electric Martial with a wonderful pass. However, Opta highlighted an unwanted statistic for the Juventus midfielder:
The Germans tightened their belts in light of superior French possession and looked to hit their opponents on the break as they drove forward.
Pogba continued to link well with the forwards, finding Giroud in the striker's role. However, the Germans went close through Thomas Muller and Gomez as they looked to steal the lead.

France were rewarded for their territory and guile in the final seconds of the half as Martial destroyed the German defence to set up Giroud.
The Manchester United attacker flew down the left wing before cutting into the opposition's box, beating Matthias Ginter with ease and giving Giroud a tap-in.
French journalist Jonathan Johnson was quick to praise Martial:
WhoScored.com shared the match statistics as the whistle blew for half-time:
The Germans were more focused and motivated in the second half, bringing on Schalke teenage sensation Leroy Sane for his first cap.
The youngster impressed, but Pogba continued to be the dominant force in midfield.
Germany hit the post midway through the second half as Muller smashed a shot from 25 yards out, narrowly failing to create an equaliser.

However, late in the match, the French prevailed as Gignac scored a decisive winner.
The player struck with just four minutes on the clock as the impressive Blaise Matuidi set up the goal, feeding Gignac with precision. The goalscorer's bullet header from Matuidi's cross was unstoppable, claiming the victory for the Euro 2016 host nation.
The French were impressive and will be one of the favourites to win Euro 2016 if they maintain their form.
Martial and Pogba are on the verge of being the best in the world in their roles, and Germany could not deal with the pair on the night.
The German team were not at their best, and they struggled against a motivated France for most of the first half, unable to find a shot on target.
They were much better in the second half, as Muller did his best to square the match, but they will come again once Euro 2016 arrives, as the world champions are the ultimate tournament competitor.
