Ukraine vs. Slovenia: Date, Live Stream, TV Info for Euro 2016 Play-off Leg 1
The Euro 2016 lineup is almost complete, and Ukraine play host to Slovenia on Saturday in the first half of their two-legged play-off, with both sides hoping to take an advantage before the return leg on Tuesday.
Both teams entered the play-off round after finishing third in their respective qualifying groups, and these two fixtures will decide who heads to the France-based fanfare next year and who stays at home.
Just four spots remain in the continental competition, and Ukraine have special motivation to trump their European foes after losing to Slovenia in the Euro 2000 play-offs 16 years ago.

Euro 2000 Demons Lurking for Ukraine

Sixteen years is a long time in football, but there are some sections of the Ukrainian support who are sure to remember their failed bid to make Euro 2000, when they fell to Slovenia 3-2 in that tournament's play-off round.
Back then, Slovenia took the upper hand after assuming a 2-1 lead in their first-leg outing at home, but it's Ukraine who have the advantage of playing in their own backyard for the opening 90 minutes this time around.

Mykhaylo Fomenko's side finished just three points behind Slovakia in Group C qualifying, while the Slovenians were somewhat further off the pace in Group E, ending five points behind runners-up Switzerland.
Olexandr Kucher and Taras Stepanenko will be suspended for Saturday's tie, and Ukraine boss Fomenko admits their hopes aren't all that high owing to their dismal record in play-off matches, per Goal.com's Matthew Rogerson:
"There's not much to be cheerful about. Ukraine have lost all their previous finals play-offs, but that is history now. We are living for today and focusing on the future. Of course it would be better to start away but we cannot change anything about the draw.
We have experience of beating France in a home first leg [in qualifying for the 2014 World Cup] and will use that in our preparations.
"
Fomenko's downtrodden attitude could be little more than an attempt to lull his opponent into a false sense of security, with both teams hoping to feature in just their second European Championship finals.
Slovenia have squad concerns of their own, however, and Robin Bairner of Goal.com recently confirmed striker Robert Beric would be missing after seeing his season halted by an anterior cruciate ligament injury:
Beric scored just one of his side's 18 goals in group qualifying, but the Saint-Etienne forward's absence nonetheless puts greater pressure on the likes of Milivoje Novakovic, 36, and Zlatan Ljubijankic, 31, to provide the goals.
Euro 2000 stands as Slovenia's only appearance at the European Championship, where they drew two and lost one of their three group matches, finishing behind Spain, Yugoslavia and Norway in their pool.

Both teams have grown and morphed since then, but it just so happens Slovenia coach Srecko Katanec was the mastermind behind that 1999 play-off victory, currently in his second spell at the national team's helm.
That could be the stroke of fate Slovenia need to believe they're destined for France next year, while joint Euro 2012 hosts Ukraine will use revenge as their motivation to level the playing field in this old rivalry.
